Our Gardens

At the Commons, our gardens are vibrant hubs of community connection, education, and hands-on learning. We operate a variety of community, demonstration, and educational gardens that serve multiple purposes—all designed to show how individuals and families can cultivate their own food. The gardens have been used by local schools to showcase to students practical, sustainable techniques and offer hands-on learning in areas like composting, soil health, and seasonal growing.

Our garden manager and dedicated team of garden volunteers work hard to grow fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs that we use in our demonstrations, distribute in the Choose Your Own Pantry, or use as ingredients in our community dinners or cooking classes. We feature raised bed plots available for community members to use individually or share.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to expand your skills, our gardens offer a welcoming environment to explore sustainable gardening, build community, and take an active role in your own food journey.
